SS 1

Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow is a mobile city-building game where players can build their own New New York and fight against alien species while exploring unfamiliar planets on space mission. It was released on June 29th, 2017 and features stories written by writers from the TV series and stars the show's original cast.

Overview

Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow tasks the player with saving New New York and the characters within it from hypnowaves that have spread across the universe. Hypnotons, an in-game currency, is used to clear the hypnowaves off land and buildings. The game presents the player with a portion of New New York, with more areas being unlocked as they progress through the game, or unlock more space by clearing areas using a Robot 1-X Worker. These blocks of land are called Districts, and each district comes with unique unlocks, such as characters, buildings, decorations, and goals. Characters from the show wander through the streets of New New York, with more characters able to be unlocked by clearing areas of hypnowaves or purchasing them using pizza. Pizza is a premium currency that is rare to come across, but can be bought in bulk via microtransactions. Certain rewards may also give pizza. The player can construct buildings that generate in-game currency Nixonbucks and Experience (xp), as well as place decorations around the map. Space missions take the player to different planets, allowing them to pick a small selection of available characters with them on the trip to participate in battles and interactions. Space missions award the player with hypnotons and Career Chips that allow them to clear areas of the map and level up characters, respectively. Characters can also perform "actions" that generate nixonbucks and xp over time.

Currencies

  • Nixonbucks Nixonbucks is the main currency of the game. It can be used to buy building and decorations and level up characters. They are earned from buildings, character actions, and space missions.
  • Hypnoton Hypnotons is another currency of the game. It can be used to clear blocks of land and clear special buildings, specifically ones with main characters, such as Bender and Leela and Hermes to name a few. It is only earned from space missions.
  • XP Experience is a secondary currency of the game. It adds to the player's overall level and each new level gains a reward. It is earned from buildings, character actions, and space missions.
  • Special events may also have a secondary currency that has to be earned. These currencies depend upon the specific event.
  • Pizza Pizza is the premium currency of the game. It takes real world money or can be earned through special offers, advertisements, or special rewards.

Land

The blocks of land are separated into larger blocks of land called districts. The player begins on the Planet Express District and must collect ancient artifacts from planets in order to unlock new districts. Land blocks can only be cleared by hypnotons.

Buildings and decorations can be placed on the land, but each item has a certain size it takes up. There is a limited amount of land, so it is up to the player to determine how they want to manage their space. The player can edit their town by tapping the icon in the lower left hand corner that looks like a plus sign with arrows or by tapping and holding on an item. Items can be rotated in two directions (a small number of items can not be rotated) and can be stored in the player's inventory. To view the inventory, while in deco mode, click the icon in the lower right hand side. Keep in mind, certain items may not be stored in the inventory. Once players reach level 3, they may place roads and sidewalks!

Buildings take time to build, but decorations can be placed instantly. Decorations also provide a small bit of xp when placed.

Robot 1-X Worker clears the land of Hypnowaves and builds buildings. The player starts automatically with one, but more workers can be bought with pizza. Robot workers can work on multiple buildings simultaneously but they cannot work on the same building simultaneously.

Characters

There are a plethora of characters to collect and unlock within Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow. Each character has a class, which influences his or her actions and abilities while out on space missions. Some characters are premium characters, meaning they can only be bought with pizza. Every character, premium or not, has a personal side goal that is unique to themselves.

Actions

Characters also have specific actions that earn the player nixonbucks and xp. Character actions may also been needed to complete goals and unlock items for other characters. Characters must be leveled up in order to gain access to all their actions. Some actions are animated, meaning they take place on the streets of New New York, and others happen within specific buildings. Actions cannot be canceled, but they can be instant-finished with pizza.

Character Finder

Once the player reaches the Central Park District, they will gain access to the character finder! The player can use the character finder in the upper left hand corner to locate the character whose portrait is showing. Keep cycling through the characters, who will appear in alphabetical order, to get to the character needed. Once an action is selected for the character, they will disappear from the character finder. Also, clicking on an objective that requires a character will take the player directly to that character's action screen (except for when they are busy).

  • Currently, there is no way to see what actions each character is doing where. To find a specific character that is doing an action in a building, the player must tap that building.

Outfits

Characters can also have a range of outfits to unlock, which also change how the character acts. The Outfit-O-Matic building is needed to make any outfit. To change a character's outfit, tap the hanger icon in the bottom left corner of the screen, tap the outfit, then tap the back arrow in the upper left hand of the screen to go back to the actions screen.

Unlocking

Many characters need special unlock items and actions before they become playable. Premium characters do not need to be unlocked; they are available immediately.

To unlock a character, tap on them to see what they need. Players will have to earn the necessary items by performing actions with other characters, placing buildings, and various other goals. Each character is different! Select the item bubble and you can see which actions are needed for that item. Clicking on a specific action will take the player directly to it!

When the player has received enough items for the character, tap on the check mark above their head to turn in the item. The bubbles will visually bounce to show that an item has been completed. Unlockable characters can also be unlocked instantly with pizza.

Levels

The player has their own level, visible in the upper right hand corner. Each character has their own level as well. These character levels can be upgraded with Career Chips and nixonbucks. There are also specialized career chips that match the character's class. Character levels help with space missions. Outfits are treated as their own character, and each outfit is leveled up separately from the character. For instance, a player can have a Fry at level 20 and a Robot Fry and level 16.

Goals

Goals are the main driving force of the game. They include dialogue stories and tasks for the player to complete. The could include character actions, going out on space missions, or even placing certain decorations! Completing goals rewards the player with nixonbucks, xp, or other special rewards. The goals appear in the lower left-hand corner of the screen. The main story goals have a brighter background than the side goals. Special events can also have main and side goals as well!

Missions

Space missions are another driving force of the game. Completing space missions is the only way to earn hypnotons, which are used to unlock districts, clear land, and clear certain buildings.

  • In order to complete a space mission, the player must click the Planet Express Ship in the lower left hand corner or scroll up towards the sky until they reach to the "Go to Space" button. This will bring up the planets screen.
  • The player must choose the planet they want to visit. However, planets must be unlocked with ancient artifacts. All players start with Omicron Persei 8.
  • Once the player has chosen which planet, they must pick which mission they want to complete. Each mission has its own rewards, map, fuel costs, and requirements. Some missions have requirements that are needed, such as a certain character, certain outfit, or an average character level.
  • The Planet Express ship runs on fuel, which slowly refills over time. If the ship runs out of fuel, the characters in the ship will be stranded in space! However, the player can still visit New New York by hitting the icon in the upper right hand corner.

Space missions may also provide special one time only rewards, such as ancient artifacts or unlock items, which will show up on the completion rewards screen.

Gaining 100% completion on a space mission rewards the player with pizza!

Combat

While out on a space mission, the player can combat enemies and engage in space interactions.

Combat allows the player to command characters to fight enemies. They are represented by a yellow node on the mission map. Combat relies upon the character's class and level. Each class has a special attack that provides a specific benefit, such as increased attack or a harder critical attack. These special benefits stack, so if two characters of the same class use the same special, you will get twice the benefit. Players can also hit with critical attacks by tapping right as the circle under the enemy becomes white. The same mechanic occurs to defend characters from enemy attack.

  • Players can choose enemies to attack by tapping on them. (Tap before the character starts their attack so you're not missing the critical hit.)
  • Players can pause combat by hitting the "X" in the upper right hand corner.
  • Characters can he healed with pizza or health packs. Characters can die if they run out health and can be revived with a revive pack. Health and revive packs can be bought from the main shopping screen or directly when needed or by pressing the plus icon on the bottom of the screen while on a space mission. Sometimes health and revive packs are given as a reward for logging in.
  • If all characters in the party die while on a space mission, the player will have to choose to revive/heal them or forfeit the mission. Those are the only options.
  • See Combat for more details.

Space Interactions

Space interactions allow the player to choose options and gain special rewards. They are represented by a green node on the mission map. Every interaction has a standard reward of nixonbucks and xp.

  • Each interaction is cataloged on this wiki under the mission that it appears in.
Flare

Events

Events are special limited time only experiences. They can include goals, missions, characters, outfits, ANYTHING! They are usually themed in nature and a in game pop up will notify the player when an event is happening. All Events and Mini Events are catalogued here on the wiki.
